This kitchen is a study in special touches. With an angled ceiling and existing skylight, we wanted to help the
client open the room up and make it the workspace they wanted. We took everything out and started over -
beginning with removing the corner wall and fireplace. Opening up the floor plan made room for the large
island. Then we focused on the special touches - using floor tile to do the matching backsplash behind the
stove, increasing the height of the cabinets to make more usable storage, and adding the flip-up outlet in the
garden window over the sink - perfect for a small fan or Christmas lights.
